Sportskeeda has run an exclusive interview with ELO chief executive Adam Hepburn on how the ELO Sentinel XR was designed, and why the company built it gaming-first instead of adapting a headset made for productivity. Asked by Angshuman Dutta to sum the glasses up in a single word, Hepburn chose "uncompromising", and the rest of the conversation sets out what he meant: the brief was a four-hour session of Elden Ring, not twenty minutes of email on a flight.

That brief drove the hardware. He pointed to the Sony OLED modules, at 0.68 inches the biggest panels anyone in the category is shipping, paired with birdbath optics rather than freeform lenses to reach a 52-degree field of view with no distortion at the edges, and to side fins that seal out the light bleed he says spoils glasses which sit away from the face. Running those panels at 120Hz forced heat to be solved properly, through an aluminium frame, passive cooling and a layered thermal structure built to stay comfortable for hours. He also walked through the wider setup: the phone processes, the Vagabond Pro handles input, and Envoy supplies the powered connection a Switch 2 needs.
